The AXIOM wildstyle piece in graphite — interlocking arrows, bar extensions, and forced perspective, engineered to read almost illegible then snap into place once you find the structure.

A The brief

An ongoing study in wildstyle lettering, drawn by hand in Procreate. The letterforms are engineered like architecture — interlocking arrows, bar extensions, and forced perspective that reads almost illegible on purpose, then snaps into place once you find the structure underneath.

The series runs two pieces on the same system. The first is the tag AXIOM (@theaxiom.one), rendered in graphite gradients with sharp extensions pushing out past the letter body. The second pushes the identical structure into a shorter word, “JOSH”, where the tighter letter count forces heavier overlap and more aggressive depth.

Both are exercises in the same three problems: depth, weight, and how far legibility can be bent before it breaks. Everything — gradients, drop shadows, negative space — is controlled by hand rather than filters.
